Perseverance on Mars

Perseverance lands on Mars tomorrow (at approximately 11pm GMT). I’m looking forward to watching the landing, and the follow up explorations. This is the first rover that is “self-driving” – it has the ability to assess its surrounding terrain and make decisions as to how to move and where. Previously, all instructions came from scientists sitting on Earth, and with a 40 minute delay in transmitting data between the planets this was a long (and let’s be honest, boring) process.

You can watch the landing live, popcorn in hand:

I’m building the site live, because I don’t expect an audience until I actively send people here, and it’s easier to send links for feedback that way anyway.

So if you made it here on you own, somehow…maybe come back later? :=)
